You can't completely disable Chrome on Windows, but you can prevent it from running automatically by disabling it from starting up with your computer. Here's how:
Disable Chrome from Starting Up
- Open Task Manager: Right-click on the taskbar and select "Task Manager".
- Go to the Startup Tab: Click on the "Startup" tab at the top of the Task Manager window.
- Find Chrome: Look for "Google Chrome" in the list of startup programs.
- Disable Chrome: Right-click on the Chrome entry and select "Disable".
Alternative Method: Disable Chrome in System Configuration
- Open the Run Dialog: Press the Windows key + R.
- Type "msconfig" and press Enter: This will open the System Configuration window.
- Go to the Startup Tab: Click on the "Startup" tab.
- Uncheck the "Google Chrome" box: This will prevent Chrome from starting up when you log in.
- Click "Apply" and "OK".
Note: Disabling Chrome from starting up will only prevent it from running automatically. You can still manually open Chrome at any time.
