Published in Computer & Technology 2 mins read

Windows Power Plans are already activated by default, and you don't need to manually activate them. However, you can customize and switch between existing Power Plans to manage your computer's power usage.

Here's how to access and manage Power Plans:

  1. Open the Control Panel: Search for "Control Panel" in the Windows search bar and open it.
  2. Navigate to Power Options: Click on "Hardware and Sound," then "Power Options."
  3. Choose a Power Plan: You'll see a list of available Power Plans, such as "Balanced," "Power saver," and "High performance."
  4. Create a Custom Power Plan: Click on "Create a power plan" to customize settings for your specific needs.

You can also access and manage Power Plans directly from the Windows Settings app:

  1. Open Settings: Press "Windows key + I" or click the gear icon in the Start menu.
  2. Navigate to System: Select "System" from the left-hand menu.
  3. Choose Power & sleep: Click on "Power & sleep" in the right-hand pane.
  4. Manage Power Plans: Under "Related settings," click on "Additional power settings." This will open the Control Panel's Power Options window where you can manage Power Plans.

Remember, the "Balanced" power plan is generally recommended for most users. However, you can choose the plan that best suits your needs.
