You can easily set a password for a ZIP file in Windows 10 using the built-in compression tool. Here's how:

  1. Right-click on the file or folder you want to compress.
  2. Select "Add to archive" from the context menu.
  3. In the "Archive Name and Options" window, enter a desired name for the ZIP file.
  4. Click on the "Advanced" button.
  5. Check the "Set password" box.
  6. Enter your desired password in the "Password" field and confirm it in the "Confirm password" field.
  7. Click "OK" to close the "Advanced" window.
  8. Click "OK" to create the password-protected ZIP file.

Now, when you try to extract the contents of the ZIP file, you'll be prompted to enter the password.

Note:

  • Remember your password, as there's no way to recover it if you forget it.
  • You can use any combination of letters, numbers, and symbols for your password.
  • For enhanced security, consider using a strong password with at least 12 characters, including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
