Renaming a folder on your MacBook is a simple process. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Locate the Folder: Open the Finder app and navigate to the folder you want to rename.
  2. Select the Folder: Click once on the folder to select it.
  3. Rename the Folder:
    • Method 1: Right-click (or Control-click) on the folder and select Rename from the context menu.
    • Method 2: Double-click on the folder name to highlight it. Then, simply type in the new name you want to use.
  4. Press Enter: After typing the new name, press Enter on your keyboard to confirm the change.

Example: Let's say you have a folder named "Documents" that you want to rename to "Work Files." Follow these steps:

  • Locate the Folder: Open Finder and navigate to the "Documents" folder.
  • Select the Folder: Click once on the "Documents" folder.
  • Rename the Folder: Right-click on the folder, select "Rename," and type in "Work Files."
  • Press Enter: Press Enter to save the changes.

Now, your folder will be renamed from "Documents" to "Work Files."

Important Note: Once you rename a folder, all the files and subfolders within it will remain in the same location.
