Where is the Power Eject Button on a Mac?

Published in Computer Hardware 1 min read

The Power Eject button is not a physical button on a Mac. It's a software function that appears on the screen when you insert a removable media device, such as a CD, DVD, or USB drive.

To eject a device:

  1. Click on the eject icon that appears next to the device's name in the Finder window.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) on the device's name in the Finder window and select Eject.
  3. Drag the device's icon to the Trash icon.

The Power Eject button is a convenient way to safely remove external devices from your Mac.
