Published in Communication 1 min read

"Rog" is a slang term used in radio communication, particularly in aviation and military contexts. It stands for "received" and is a short, efficient way to acknowledge that a message has been understood.

How "Rog" is Used:

  • Confirmation: When someone transmits a message, the receiver responds with "Rog" to confirm they have understood the message.
  • Acknowledgement: "Rog" can also be used to acknowledge a request or instruction.
  • Simple Response: In some situations, "Rog" is used as a simple affirmative response, similar to "Yes" or "Understood."

Examples:

  • Pilot: "Requesting permission to land."
  • Air Traffic Controller: "Roger, permission granted."
  • Soldier: "Move to position Alpha."
  • Commander: "Rog."

Note: "Rog" is a casual term and may not be used in all formal communication scenarios.
