You can change your default search location in Chrome by modifying your search engine settings.

Steps to Change Your Default Search Location:

  1. Open Chrome and click the three dots in the top-right corner of your browser window.
  2. Select Settings from the menu.
  3. In the Settings menu, click Search.
  4. Under the Search engine section, click Manage search engines.
  5. You'll see a list of search engines. Find the one you want to use as your default and click the three dots next to it.
  6. Select Make default.

Now, whenever you use the search bar in Chrome, it will use the location you've set as your default.

Understanding Search Engine Settings

The "Manage search engines" section allows you to customize your search experience in Chrome. You can:

  • Add new search engines: Click the Add button to add a new search engine to the list.
  • Edit existing search engines: Click the three dots next to any search engine to edit its settings, including the search engine URL and keyword.
  • Remove search engines: Click the three dots next to any search engine and select Remove to delete it from the list.

Example:

Let's say you want to use Google as your default search engine, but you want your searches to be directed to Google.com instead of Google.co.uk.

  1. Go to the "Manage search engines" section in Chrome settings.
  2. Find Google.co.uk in the list.
  3. Click the three dots next to it and select Edit.
  4. Change the keyword from "Google.co.uk" to "Google.com" and click Save.
  5. Click the three dots next to Google.com and select Make default.

Now, your Chrome searches will use Google.com as the default search location.
