How Do I Turn On Image Stabilization on My Canon R5?

Published in Camera 1 min read

Image stabilization on the Canon EOS R5 is built into the camera body, meaning it's always active! There's no separate switch or button to toggle it on or off. You can, however, adjust the level of stabilization based on your shooting needs.

Here's how to access the stabilization settings:

  1. Press the Menu button on your camera.
  2. Navigate to the "Camera Settings" tab.
  3. Select "IS Settings".
  4. Choose your preferred level of stabilization:
    • "Standard": Provides the best overall stabilization for most shooting scenarios.
    • "Strong": Offers increased stabilization for challenging situations like low light or telephoto lenses.
    • "Off": Deactivates image stabilization completely.

Note: The "Strong" setting might introduce a slight increase in camera shake during certain movements.
