You can't set a password for the entire Mozilla Firefox browser itself. However, you can use the built-in password manager to save and manage passwords for websites you visit. Here's how:
1. Save Passwords Automatically:
- Open Firefox and visit a website that requires a login.
- Enter your username and password, then check the "Remember password" box.
- Click "Sign in" or "Login."
- Firefox will now automatically fill in your username and password the next time you visit that website.
2. Manually Save Passwords:
- Go to the website you want to save the password for.
- Log in as usual.
- Click the Firefox menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner.
- Select "Options" (or "Preferences" on macOS).
- Click on "Privacy & Security" in the left-hand menu.
- Scroll down to the "Logins and Passwords" section.
- Click "Saved Logins."
- Click the "Add" button.
- Enter the website address, username, and password.
- Click "Save."
3. View and Edit Saved Passwords:
- Follow steps 1-5 above.
- Click on the "Saved Logins" button.
- You can now view, edit, or delete saved passwords.
4. Master Password:
- Firefox doesn't offer a master password feature, but it can be enabled using the "Lockwise" extension, which is a separate password manager from Mozilla.
Remember, it's important to use strong and unique passwords for each website and avoid saving passwords for sensitive accounts like banking or email.
