Which Side Brain is Rare?

Published in Brain Science 1 min read

The concept of a "left-brained" or "right-brained" person is a popular but oversimplified way of understanding how our brains work. While there are specializations in each hemisphere, it's not accurate to say one side is rare.

Both hemispheres of the brain work together in a complex and interconnected way. While some functions may be dominant in one side, both sides are essential for overall brain function.

For example, the left hemisphere is typically associated with language, logic, and sequential processing, while the right hemisphere is often linked to creativity, spatial awareness, and emotional processing.

However, individuals don't necessarily have a dominant side. Most people use both hemispheres equally.

The idea of a "rare" side brain is a misconception. Both sides are crucial for our cognitive abilities and work together harmoniously.
