What is the sperm of a woman called?

Published in Biology 1 min read

There is no such thing as "sperm of a woman". Sperm is the male reproductive cell, produced by the testes in men. Women do not produce sperm.

The female reproductive cell is called an egg or ovum.

Eggs are produced in the ovaries of a woman. During fertilization, a sperm cell combines with an egg cell to form a zygote, which will develop into a fetus.
