You can't remove a bike crank from a pedal. Pedals are attached to the crank arms, not the other way around. To remove a pedal, you need to use a pedal wrench and follow these steps:
- Locate the pedal wrench size: Most pedals use a 15mm wrench, but some might require a different size.
- Position the wrench: Place the wrench on the flat side of the pedal axle, ensuring it's securely fitted.
- Turn the wrench counterclockwise: This will loosen the pedal and allow it to be removed from the crank arm.
- Remove the pedal: Once the pedal is loose enough, you can pull it off the crank arm.
Note: Some pedals might have a left-hand thread, which requires turning the wrench clockwise to loosen it. This is usually indicated by an "L" or a left-hand thread symbol on the pedal itself.
