The number of rotors on a car depends on the car's braking system. Most cars have four rotors, one for each wheel.
Types of Rotors:
- Front Rotors: Front rotors are generally larger than rear rotors to handle the majority of braking force.
- Rear Rotors: Rear rotors typically provide additional braking support and can be smaller than front rotors.
- Solid Rotors: These are the most basic type and are made from a single piece of metal.
- Ventilated Rotors: These rotors have channels or fins to improve cooling, which is essential for high-performance braking.
Note:
Some cars, especially older models or those with rear drum brakes, might only have two rotors on the front wheels.
