Trimming audio in Studio One is a simple process that allows you to remove unwanted sections of your recordings. You can do this using the Trim Tool.
Using the Trim Tool
- Select the audio region: Click and drag your mouse over the audio region you want to trim.
- Activate the Trim Tool: Click the Trim Tool icon in the Tool Bar or press T on your keyboard.
- Adjust the trim points: You can now adjust the start and end points of your audio region by dragging the Trim Handles (the small triangles at the edges of the region).
- Confirm your changes: Once you've made your adjustments, click outside the audio region to confirm the trim.
Additional Tips
- Precision Trimming: For more precise trimming, you can use the Zoom feature to enlarge the audio waveform.
- Splitting Audio: To split an audio region at a specific point, use the Split Tool (shortcut: S) or right-click on the audio region and select Split at Cursor.
Alternative Methods
While the Trim Tool is the primary method, you can also trim audio using other techniques:
- Crossfade: The Crossfade Tool (shortcut: F) allows you to create smooth transitions between audio regions by overlapping them.
- Cut and Paste: You can also cut sections of audio and paste them elsewhere, effectively trimming the original region.
By mastering these techniques, you'll be able to create clean and professional-sounding audio recordings in Studio One.
