Is there a female planet?

Published in Astronomy 1 min read

There is no planet specifically designated as "female."

The concept of gender is a human construct, and we apply it to living beings, not celestial objects. Planets are categorized based on their physical characteristics, such as size, composition, and orbital path.

While some cultures may associate certain planets with feminine or masculine qualities, these are purely symbolic and have no scientific basis. For example, in some ancient cultures, Venus was associated with the goddess of love and beauty, but this is a cultural interpretation, not a scientific fact.

Scientifically, planets are simply celestial bodies that orbit a star. They are not assigned genders.
