What Organ Is Below the Heart?

Published in Anatomy 1 min read

The organ located directly below the heart is the diaphragm.

The diaphragm is a large, dome-shaped muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity. It plays a crucial role in breathing by contracting and relaxing to help us inhale and exhale air.

While the diaphragm is the primary organ directly below the heart, other organs are located in the abdominal cavity, including:

  • Stomach
  • Liver
  • Spleen
  • Pancreas
  • Intestines
  • Kidneys

These organs are all situated below the diaphragm, but not directly beneath the heart.
