Published in Accounting Software 2 mins read

You can't directly create security levels within the Tally Prime Edit Log. However, you can control access to specific data and actions through Tally Prime's built-in security features.

Here's how to manage security in Tally Prime:

1. User Creation and Permissions:

  • Create Users: Go to Gateway of Tally > Security Controls > User > Create.
  • Assign Permissions: Define user roles and assign specific permissions to each user. This includes access to various modules, transactions, reports, and even specific data entries.

2. Security Groups:

  • Create Groups: You can create groups of users and assign permissions to the group.
  • Assign Users to Groups: This allows you to manage permissions for multiple users at once.

3. Audit Trail:

  • Enable Audit Trail: Go to Gateway of Tally > Security Controls > Audit Trail > Enable Audit Trail.
  • Review Audit Trail: View the audit trail to track user activity, including data modifications and access attempts.

4. Data Security:

  • Data Encryption: Tally Prime offers data encryption features to protect sensitive information.

By implementing these security measures, you can effectively control access to data and prevent unauthorized modifications, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of your financial records.
